We witnessed history as Trump returns to the site of the attempted assassination with his friend, the world’s richest man Elon Musk and over 50,000 Trump supporters cheering them on.
(Musk pic jumping like a little kid behind Trump)
On Oct. 5th 2024 over 50,000 attendees at the recent Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania were shocked when the world’s richest man Elon Musk made a surprise appearance on stage to state: “If Trump doesn’t win this election it is the end of democracy and a threat to humanity”. Very strong words coming from Musk, the man behind such very successful companies as Tesla, SpaceX, OpenAI, StarLink, PayPal and many other highly successful technology companies.
Musk is famous around the world for the products that he has created such as the Tesla which is the #1 electric vehicle maker in the world. Musk is also the founder and CEO of SpaceX which is now the largest rocket and space travel company in the world (larger than the U.S. Government NASA space program). This year alone SpaceX has sent rocketed over 90% of total satellites into space, and Musk promises that humans will be able to travel to and live on Mars within 10 years!
Musk said further that the greatest threat to the U.S. (and the world) is the American right to free speech which “is the bedrock to democracy in America” and if Americans don’t vote for Trump that this will be the “last election in America”. Musk is specifically referring to Democrats like Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and even Bill Gates have recently said that social media companies must censor people’s content or else “we lose total control.” Shocking that these so-called “leaders” have made public statements that they need to limit the Americans (and the people of the world’s) right to free speech.
Passports of some countries have greater benefits and ease when traveling abroad. Where does your passport rank?
The Henley Passport Index is a global ranking of countries based on the travel freedom their passports provide. It measures the number of destinations passport holders can access without a prior visa. The index is updated regularly and is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Henley & Partners’ research.
As of the most recent results, Singapore holds the top spot, with its passport allowing visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 195 destinations. Japan, Germany, Italy, France and Spain follow closely, each with access to 192 destinations. On the other end of the spectrum, Afghanistan ranks the lowest, with its passport providing access to only 27 destinations.
Death toll continues to climb from destruction caused by the severe storms and flooding. We provide links below to reputable charities to help alleviate the suffering of Vietnamese.
(Massive flooding has wreaked havoc in many areas throughout Vietnam)
In recent weeks, Vietnam has been grappling with severe storms and flooding that have led to significant loss of life and widespread devastation. The country has experienced a series of natural disasters, including Typhoon Yagi, which has caused catastrophic damage across several provinces. The death toll from these events has been staggering. As of the latest reports, at least 290 people have lost their lives due to the storms and subsequent flooding. The northern regions of Vietnam have been particularly hard hit, with flash floods sweeping away entire hamlets and causing landslides that have buried homes and infrastructure. In one tragic incident, a bus carrying 20 people was swept away by floodwaters, resulting in multiple fatalities. The impact on the local population has been profound. Thousands of homes have been submerged, and many communities have been cut off from essential services. The flooding has also caused significant damage to agricultural lands, further exacerbating the hardships faced by the affected populations.
(Areas severely flooded by the storm)
In response to this crisis, the international community has rallied to provide aid and support to Vietnam. Numerous countries and organizations have stepped forward with donations and assistance. The United States, has pledged substantial aid to support relief efforts. Similarly, Australia and the European Union has mobilized emergency funds to assist with immediate needs and long-term recovery efforts.
(Aid shipments from Australia and Russia)
Russia a long-standing partner of Vietnam, has also provided significant aid. The Japanese government has dispatched emergency relief supplies, including tents, blankets, and water purification tablets, to support the displaced populations. Additionally, various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international charities have launched fundraising campaigns to gather resources for the affected communities.
(Aid shipments from Japan and America)
The Vietnamese government has been working tirelessly to coordinate relief efforts and ensure that aid reaches those in need. Rescue operations are ongoing, with local authorities and military personnel working around the clock to evacuate residents from high-risk areas and provide medical care to the injured. Efforts are also being made to restore infrastructure and reopen roads that have been blocked by landslides. Despite the overwhelming challenges, the resilience and solidarity of the Vietnamese people have been evident. Communities have come together to support one another, and the outpouring of international aid has provided a glimmer of hope amid the devastation. As recovery efforts continue, the focus remains on rebuilding and ensuring that the affected regions can recover and thrive once more. A proposal for a “Schengen-style” visa, which would allow free travel between 6 Southeast Asian countries, was put forward by Thailand in an effort to boost regional tourism. If the proposed system were to go ahead, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos could all become far more easily accessible from Thailand.
It is also a great opportunity for Vietnam to lure long-haul vacationers to extend their stays by welcoming them to explore all the good that Vietnam has to offer! Moreover, joining the alliance is a great opportunity for Vietnam as a “transit country” since tourists who would like to travel to Laos or Cambodia will have to fly to Vietnam first and then move on to one of the remaining countries.
Talks with leaders of the neighboring nations on April 10, 2024 are said to have gone well. Thai officials proposing the program suggest extending the visa validity from 30 to 90 days to make the offer more attractive so that tourists would be able to spend more time in each country they choose to visit. This step is quite smart to increase the interesting experiences for tourists and encourage them to continue returning to Southeast Asia many more times.
