BBTF 2026 Wraps Up Successfully: Redefining Indonesia’s Gastronomic Journey at Asia’s Premier B2B Travel Fair

Discover how BBTF 2026 brought together global tourism professionals in Bali to explore Indonesia’s rich gastronomic heritage, sustainable tourism, and business opportunities worth IDR 6.9 trillion.

Bali once again proved why it remains the heart of Indonesian tourism as the Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) 2026 successfully concluded its 12th edition from 28–30 May at the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC) in Nusa Dua.
Organized by ASITA Bali, BBTF has established itself as Indonesia’s leading international B2B travel trade fair for over a decade. This year’s edition carried the compelling theme “Redefining Indonesia’s Gastronomic Journey: A Celebration of Taste, Cultures, and Sustainable Heritage”, shining a spotlight on culinary tourism as a powerful bridge between culture, community, and sustainability.

A Platform Built on Trust and Results – BBTF is not your typical consumer travel show. It is a focused business-to-business marketplace where international buyers meet directly with Indonesian tourism suppliers. The event features pre-scheduled appointments (TRAVEX), high-level networking, and immersive post-tours that allow buyers to experience destinations firsthand.

In 2026, the fair welcomed approximately 407 buyers from 44 countries and 286 sellers representing 13 Indonesian provinces. The event generated an impressive transaction potential of IDR 6.9 trillion, underscoring its continued importance as a key driver for Indonesia’s tourism recovery and growth.

Strong Vietnamese Participation Strengthens ASEAN Ties – A notable highlight of BBTF 2026 was the active participation of more than 25 travel companies from Vietnam. The Vietnamese business delegation was supported and facilitated by the Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association. Throughout the event, the delegation engaged in business meetings with Indonesian sellers, interacted with local media, and held discussions with the Bali Provincial Government. This strong presence from Vietnam reflects growing tourism cooperation between the two countries and adds meaningful value to the regional networking opportunities at BBTF.

2026 Highlights: Gastronomy Takes Center Stage – This year’s theme went beyond traditional tourism promotion. BBTF 2026 explored how Indonesia’s diverse culinary traditions — from Balinese ceremonial foods to regional specialties across the archipelago — can become powerful tourism experiences that support local communities and preserve heritage.Key elements of the 2026 program included:

– A special Welcoming Dinner to kick off networking in a relaxed setting

– Two full days of TRAVEX B2B appointments

– Post-tour programs allowing international buyers to explore Bali and beyond

– Emphasis on sustainable and quality tourism practices

The closing ceremony and cocktail party brought together industry leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to celebrate another successful edition and strengthen partnerships.

Why BBTF Matters for the Global Tourism Industry

For international travel professionals, BBTF offers:

– Direct access to a wide range of Indonesian tourism products (leisure, MICE, special interest, and now gastronomy-focused experiences)

– Opportunities to discover emerging destinations beyond Bali

– High-quality, pre-qualified buyer-seller matching

– Firsthand exposure to sustainable tourism initiatives

For Indonesian sellers and destinations, it provides a trusted platform to connect with serious international buyers and generate qualified leads.

The success of BBTF 2026 further affirms Bali’s role as a premier hub for international tourism. At the same time, it opens up many new opportunities for cooperation between partners in the global tourism, travel, hospitality, and MICE industries, fostering stronger cross-border partnerships and sustainable business growth.
